Arsenal Sign the 'New' Vieira

Arsenal have continued their pre-season preparations by signing another up-and-coming youngster.

The Gunners have had a bid accepted for 22-year-old attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira.

Edu and Arteta opted against triggering the £50m release clause, but rather persuaded both Porto and the player to put pen to paper with a deal worth £35m + add ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Portuguese has risen through FC Porto’s youth system before breaking into the first team in the 2019/20 season.

Contributing 20 goal contributions (6G 14A) in 27 appearances in this Liga Portugal season, equalling the highest assist tally despite coming off the bench in 56% of the games.

The midfielder looks to be one of many signings to come in the lead-up to the season as Arsenal look to get business done early on. Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans remain the Gunners’ main targets.
