European Super League: The Death of the Beautiful Game

Arsenal has just agreed to be part of the new European Super League. This is the death of football as we know it.

In terms of this Super League, here is what I have gathered so far (source: Fox Sports):

Teams involved:

- Premier League

o City

o United

o Liverpool

o Spurs

o Chelsea

o Gunners

- La Liga

o Barca

o Real

o Atletico

- Serie A

o Juve

o AC Milan

o Inter

3 more clubs expected to join, it is currently unsure who they will be and where they will come from however.

Consequences:

- No domestic league

- No other European competition (UCL, UEL)

- Banned from ‘world level football’ (idk what that is)

- Players won’t be in World Cup or Euros or any national team comp

Format:

- 20 teams

- 5 can qualify given achievements (like the UEL and UCL)

- Two groups of 10 (kind of like divisions)

- Top 3 from each make QFs

- 4th and 5th have a play in match

- Two leg finals

- Single leg grand final

- Start August

- End May

- Introductory 3.5 billion euro payment (only 1 time)

This all may not seem bad, but this truly is the death of football. The fact that Arsenal, amongst other clubs, have agreed to this shows where priorities lie in the footballing world. Kroenke has made it clear that he values money over football.

Arsenal will be rejected from the Premier League. It is most likely that Arsenal will also have their trophies stripped from them. This wipes out 135 years of history, including:

- Highbury

- RVP

- Ozil

- Cazorla

- Henry

- Bergkamp

- Wenger

- Wright

- Adams

- Lehmann

- 13 titles

- The Invincibles

- The Golden Trophy

This is just for Arsenal, mind you. If the Super League truly goes forward, we will never see moments such as:

- Iniesta vs Netherlands

- Gotze vs Argentina

- Leicester winning the league

- Moura vs Ajax

- Barca comeback vs PSG

- Arsenal 7-5 comeback vs Reading

- Aguero league winning goal

- Drogba header vs Bayern

The magic of the game will be lost.

If this goes ahead and Arsenal agree to be a part of this Super League, I would personally like to make a few things clear:

- All ties with the club will be cut

- All club kits will be thrown away

- All photos taken down

- All support whatsoever will be halted

This League must be stopped immediately. Whether it goes ahead or not, one thing remains clear:

Kroenke has got to go blud.

At times I think about it and it seems there is only one man that can save football now.

Mate. Shits fucked. I hope someone gets their act together and calls it off. Loving the response from fans, this truely is something that transcends rivalries. Good on Bayern, BVB and PSG ( i think) for not going with those assholes and listening to their fans.
